The tale of the Men in Black originated in Tacoma.The Maury Island Incident – A 1940s incident that occurred not far from the coast of our magnificent city gave rise to decades of conspiracy theories and the first US Air Force fatality ever. The Maury Island Incident event relates to reports by Fred Crisman and Harold Dahl of things in the sky that they saw above Maury Island in Puget Sound, including falling debris and threats from individuals dressed in black. Later, the two would assert that the incidents had taken place on June 21, 1947. Come along as we investigate the sites and myths related to this incredible encounter.
